Baby

Here I am! Your very own baby giant. I hope you will take good care of me. Put me somewhere indoors with lots of light and give me a little water every other day.

After 2 weeks

After 2 weeks of pampering, it is time for a larger pot! Preferably a pot of 2 litres or more with holes for drainage underneath (so I don’t ‘drown’).

Outside

You can now put me outside. Put me in partial shade for a week or so, so I can acclimatise to the harsh sun. I can tolerate cold, but I need to take shelter in a cool place indoors if temperatures drop below -5°C.

Teenager

What you nurture will grow. I do my very best. Once I am twice the height of my pot, it is time for a larger home.

Fertilizer & temperature

In summer, I thrive outside in a sunny and warm spot. I get a little peckish when I develop new needles and will be very grateful for a little extra plant food!

In a pot, I need to be indoors when the temperature drops to -10°C.

Nature

After 2 years, the big moment is finally here. Will you allow me to grow freely in nature or do I remain nice and small forever in a pot close to you?

In the wild, I like plenty of space. With a growth rate of 50 centimetres a year, I can eventually grow about 90 metres tall.

Testimonials

Annamaria

"A beautiful sequoia, one and a half meters tall. Friends had cultivated it from a Treemore baby-tree sent by letterbox. It became too large for their small indoor garden. We gladly took it for the forest at our holiday cottage. Space had become available because two large spruces had fallen victim to the bark beetle. We eagerly watch to see if it will start a growth spurt now that it has the room."
